US Visa Application

Before making an application for a US Visa, there are few things to take in consideration. Firstly you need to check if a visa is required for your travel, type of visa required, the visa cost, list of requirements and service fee.

Below are a list of tips and procedures to follow.

1. Check if you need a visa. ( depending on your country of origin)
2. Choose the type of US visa you will apply for. eg B1/B2
3. Gather required documents. ( see list below )
4. B1/B2 Visa fee – $185 USD + processing fee
5. Ensure passport is up to date. ( Must have more than 6 months before expiry date )
6. Complete application & Schedule appointment ( done by us ).
7. Wait for processing/interview.

US Visa Requirements

Here are the requirements for a US visa ( B1/B2 ):

• An online application ( DS 160 ). 
• Your valid passport. It must be valid for at least six months beyond your planned stay in the United States.
• 2 photograph. View US visa photo requirement / hard copy and digital copy
• Personal information about applicant and US contact
• Employment letter, Business registration or School enrollment if any. ( Information required for application )
• Receipt of payment for a non immigrant visa application and confirmation letter. 
• Social media Information. A list of the social media platforms that you use, and the name
  of your account in each, phone number, email and social media history of the five previous years.

U.S. Embassy Kingston is located at 142 Old Hope Road in Liguanea, Kingston 6. Our office hours are Monday to Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. except for holidays. The Embassy is accessible by public transportation, including buses and taxis.
